    The way repeat prescriptions are ordered has changed. You now have to order your repeat prescriptions directly through Woodbrook Medical Centre and not your high street or internet pharmacy or appliance contractor.

    Please give at least 48 hours' notice when requesting a repeat prescription.

Welcome To Woodbrook Medical Centre


Please avoid visting the practice where possible. If it is unavoidable that you must visit please do not come in if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • A temperature or fever
  • A new cough

If you are experiencing these symptoms please do not come in. Instead we ask you to call our reception team on 01509239166 for advice. You can also go to https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 for advice.

If you do come in to the practice please leave a safe distance between yourself and other patients and staff. We have hand gel around the practice and hand washing facilities, please use these as required to protect yourself and other patients.


Unfortunately we have made the decison to suspend appointment booking at the reception desk. This is to minimise the risk of Coronavirus spread to our staff and patients.

Instead we ask that all patients call 01509 239166 at 8.00am to request an appointment. You will be asked some screening questions and then asked for the reason for your appointment. Your request will be triaged by a Clinician and they will decide if you need to be seen at the practice.

Due to the increased demand for appointments during the next few weeks our phonelines will be extremely busy and it may take you some time to get through to the reception team, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.


Due to the increased demand for repeat prescriptions we are unable to guarantee that you request will be processed in 2 working days.

To allow our team and your pharmacy enough time to prepare your repeat prescription please order 10 days before your medication runs out. This is very important as you may risk running out of your medication.

Please avoid coming in to the practice to request your repeat medication, where possible please post your request slip through our prescription letterbox (On the front of the building and a letter box on the wall in the carpark)

You can also order your medication through SystmOnline - if you do not have an account please contact the practice to discuss how to set one up. Acess to order your medications online means that you can do this from home and you will not have to come into the practice .


If you have not yet nominated a pharmacy that you would like your prescriptions to be sent to electronically we would advise you do this as a matter of urgency, please call our reception team after 11.00am and we will add this information to your record.

Nominating a pharmacy means that we can send your prescription electronically to them and this saves you having to come in to us to collect.

The surgery is now open from 9.00am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. 

Access To Surgery Premises

Limited car parking is available at the rear of the building for patients and staff only, and the entrance is situated on Canal Bank.  Please be aware that a permit is required to qualify for up to 1 hour’s free parking, and these can be obtained from Reception. Alternatively, there is an NCP car park available in The Rushes Shopping Centre, opposite the practice.  Wheelchair access is available from the car park and aided by automatic doors.  There is adequate space in the entrance lobbies in which to leave prams, pushchairs and bicycles.

Language Difficulties

If patients require the use of an interpreter, this can be arranged. This service may be conducted in person or by telephone. Please note it can take up to a week to find a suitable interpreter, so please contact us in plenty of time if this service is required.
