For a short period during lockdown we allowed patients to order repeat medications over the phone. We have now reverted back to our original policy of not accepting orders for medication over the phone. This is due to an increase in prescription errors and items not arriving at the pharmacy in time. It could also stop an urgent call to the practice from being received due to the length of time being spent on the phone.
We have launched a new online form that allows you to order your repeat medication online. You do not need an account and can submit the form at any time of day or night.

Please avoid coming in to the practice to request your repeat medication, where possible please post your request slip through our prescription letterbox (On the front of the building)
To allow our team and your pharmacy enough time to prepare your repeat prescription please order 10 days before your medication runs out. This is very important as you may risk running out of your medication.
PHARMACY ORDERING EXEMPTION FORMS
Patients over the age of 75 or those with medical conditions that may prevent them from ordering online or coming to the surgery are able to fill in a pharmacy ordering exemption form. This form will enable you to order your medication directly through your pharmacy. Please note the form will need to be approved by the practice, once approved we let your nominated pharmacy know they can manage your medication.

FACE MASKS/COVERINGS AND EXEMPTIONS
Woodbrook Medical Centre is following the government guidance and we will not be issuing letters to exempt patients from wearing face masks.
Face masks or coverings must be worn when you attend the practice. You will not be allowed to come in to the practice if you are not wearing a face mask or suitable face covering. You do not need to wear a face covering if you have a legitimate reason not to such as:
- Young children under the age of 11
- Not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
- If putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
- If you are suffering with breathing difficulty, for example you are having an asthma attack.
- If you are severely unwell and are experiencing a medical emergency.
- if you are providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
FITNESS TO FLY
We understand that some of our patients may be anxious about travelling during the Covid-19 pandemic and that some of our patients are contacting their travel insurers to discuss holiday cancellations. In turn, insurers may request GP letters to support cancellations based on patient's medical conditions.
As a practice, we follow the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines (a national standard) on fitness to fly. If you have been asked to provide a GP letter to support your holiday cancellation please visit Am I Fit To Fly?
As noted on this site, most patients medical conditions will still allow patients to fly. For conditions in which flying is contraindicated are listed; we are happy to issue supporting letters.
We will not be able to issue any letters for forward cancellations or changes of your holiday plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please note that a charge is applied to all private letters
Please click here for more information about charges for private work
Unfortunately we have made the decison to suspend appointment booking at the reception desk and we have had to restrict all of our face to face appointments. This is to minimise the risk of Coronavirus spread to our staff and patients. Instead we are running a daily triage system that all clinicians within the practice will be reviewing and contacting patients where appropriate.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT ANY WALK IN PATIENTS NOW OR IN THE FUTURE AS THERE MAY BE TIMES WHEN THERE IS NO GP ON SITE.
We ask that all patients call 01509 239166 before 12.00PM (at the latest) to request a telephone triage appointment, this will be subject to availability on the day. You will be asked some screening questions and the reason for your call. You will then be triaged by a Clinician who may deal with your request over the phone, start a video consultation (Via WherebyApp) or possibly decide to see you face to face.
Due to the increased demand for appointments during the next few weeks our phonelines will be extremely busy and it may take you some time to get through to the reception team, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you.
ELECTRONIC REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
If you have not yet nominated a pharmacy that you would like your prescriptions to be sent to electronically we would advise you do this as a matter of urgency, please click here to nominate a pharmacy: Electronic Prescription - Pharmacy Nomination
Nominating a pharmacy means that we can send your prescription electronically and you will not have to come in to the surgery to collect.
